Morningside College senior wins national student entrepreneur contest
Morningside College senior Josh Doering, a business administration major from Hubbard, Iowa, won the Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization (CEO) 2016 Pitch Competition on Oct. 29 during the organization’s national conference in Tampa, Fla.
Morningside College senior Josh Doering, a business administration major from Hubbard, Iowa, won the Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization (CEO) 2016 Pitch Competition on Oct. 29 during the organization’s national conference in Tampa, Fla.
A panel of judges awarded Doering the first-place prize of $3,500 after hearing 80 college entrepreneurs from around the country pitch their startup business ideas. Doering has developed and marketed Seed Slide, a device that allows farmers to safely open and unload large seed boxes.
CEO, which is headquartered at the University of Tampa, supports a network of more than 200 chapters on college and university campuses in more than 40 states.
In December 2015, Doering won the top prize in the Future Founders’ UPitch competition in Chicago, beating out 23 other student startup founders.
