Morningside College is ranked No. 5 on a list of the “Top 25 Small Colleges for a Counseling Degree” that appears on the website Best Counseling Degrees (www.bestcounselingdegrees.net).

In announcing its top 25 list, the website said small colleges and universities give students opportunities to develop one-on-one connections with faculty members who can support students in getting the most out of their education and obtaining work related referrals and references for graduate school.

“These counseling programs allow graduates to go directly into the workforce in the human service field, and they provide a springboard for graduate study,” the website said.

To develop the “Top 25 Small Colleges for a Counseling Degree” ranking, the website looked at colleges and universities with less than 3,000 students that offered four-year degrees in counseling or four-year degrees with a counseling emphasis. The schools were evaluated on accreditation, retention rate and net price and ranked by overall graduation rate.
