Shannon Claxton, assistant professor of psychology at Morningside College, recently co-authored a paper published in the Journal of Research on Adolescence.

Her paper, “The Peer Relationships of Those Who Have Experienced Adoption or Foster Care: A Meta-Analysis,” focused on evaluating the presence and quality of close peer relationships for adoptees and individuals with foster care experience as compared to biologically-reared individuals.

Claxton joined the faculty in 2015 after previously teaching at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio.  She has a doctorate in experimental psychology from Kent State University.
