Shannon Claxton, assistant professor of psychology at Morningside College, recently was selected to serve as chair of Emerging Scholars’ Network for the Society for the Study of Emerging Adulthood.

Shannon Claxton, assistant professor of psychology at Morningside College, recently was selected to serve as chair of Emerging Scholars’ Network for the Society for the Study of Emerging Adulthood.

Emerging adulthood is the age period from approximately 18-29 years old when individuals are between adolescence and full-fledged adulthood.

The Emerging Scholars’ Network brings together resources for career advice, creates networking opportunities, and establishes collaborations to strengthen international research on emerging adulthood.

Claxton joined the faculty at Morningside College in 2015 after previously teaching at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio.  She has a doctorate in experimental psychology from Kent State University.
