Morningside has made a number of adjustments to the 2020 Homecoming festivities due to COVID-19.

Sioux City, IA – Due to the continuing global pandemic and Morningside’s enduring commitment to social responsibility and campus health and safety, Morningside College has made a number of adjustments to its 2020 Homecoming.

Presently, the homecoming football game vs. Briar Cliff University on Saturday, October 10 at 1:30 p.m. in Elwood Olsen Stadium will be played as scheduled with fans in attendance, as will all other scheduled home athletic events. Guidelines and requirements for fans attending Morningside athletic events will be available in the coming weeks.

All other in-person, on-campus events for alumni and guests during Homecoming Weekend 2020 will be canceled. This includes Taste of Morningside, alumni tours, all college-affiliated reunions or social gatherings, the M-Club induction, and CODA (Culmination of Distinguished Achievement) induction.

Individuals who were to have been inducted into the M-Club Hall of Fame or were to have received a CODA Legacy Award will now be honored during Homecoming Weekend 2021.

The 50/60 Reunion Dinner will be postponed with the intention of rescheduling for spring 2021. Individuals who are part of those classes should receive a letter with more information.

After Labor Day, Morningside will share more information about Virtual Spirit Week and online events for alumni and fans to enjoy during the week of homecoming.  Additionally, Morningside Activities Council will be coordinating and announcing homecoming events for current students as information becomes available.
