Morningside College’s 2018-19 wrestling team earned 32 ranking points on the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics’ preseason top 25, released Wednesday, Oct. 24.

SIOUX CITY, IOWA –Morningside College’s 2018-19 wrestling team earned 32 ranking points on the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics’ preseason top 25, released Wednesday, Oct. 24.

The Mustangs had four individuals ranked within their respective weight class top 20s. Senior 125-pounder Keegan Hessler (Scottsbluff, Neb.)topped the quartet, coming in at number six. Fellow senior Dakota Drenth (Hartley, Iowa)was tied for 20th at 149 pounds; junior 157-pounder Kyle Fowler (Elk Point, S.D.)debuted in a tie for 17th; and senior 184-pounder Caleb Deemer (Palmer, Alaska)was at No. 17, too. 

MC opens the 2018-19 season competing in the Buena Vista University Open in Storm Lake Saturday, Dec. 1.
