LAMB Theatre, Morningside present first collaborative production, ‘Gruesome Playground Injuries’
Sioux City, IA – Morningside University, in collaboration with LAMB Theatre, is thrilled to announce the opening of its first joint theatrical production, ‘Gruesome Playground Injuries.’ Eight performances will take place between April 18-28. All performances will be held in the Helen Levitt Art Gallery inside Eppley Auditorium on the Morningside University campus (3625 Garretson Ave, Sioux City, IA 51106).
‘Gruesome Playground Injuries’ navigates the complexities of human connection through the lens of two intricately linked lives. This performance is rated R due to extreme profanity, discussions of violence and gore. It also deals with intense themes of sexual assault, self-harm, and eating disorders.
Performances are slated for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m., complemented by a special Sunday matinee at 1:30 p.m.. Tickets are $19 for adults, $17 for seniors, and $13 for students. Morningside University students, faculty, and staff can attend the production free of charge with a Morningside ID.
One special note is that ‘Gruesome Playground Injuries’ will host exclusive talk-back sessions with the cast and creative team. These will be held on Sunday, April 21, after the 1:30 p.m. matinee, and on Saturday, April 27, following the 7:30 p.m. show. The sessions present a unique opportunity for attendees to engage in meaningful dialogue with the minds behind the masterpiece, fostering a deeper understanding and connection with the work.
