Morningside won the team title at the Peru State Spring Invite women’s golf tournament behind a medalist round of 79 by freshman Samantha Knight.
Freshman Samantha Knight carded a 79 to take individual medalist honors and lead Morningside to the team title at the five-team Peru State Spring Invite on Wednesday at Table Creek Golf Course in Nebraska City, Neb.
The Mustangs finished with a 342 total for a five-stroke victory margin over runner-up Waldorf with a 347.
Aside from Knight’s medalist round of 79, the Mustangs also counted an 84 from Maria Zorrilla, an 89 from Myla Brown and a 90 from Liz Thies.
The Mustangs will compete in the Doane Kaitlyn Ericson Invite on Thursday in Lincoln, Neb.
