Grace Kim, a pianist who studied as a child with Morningside College music professor James March and has gone on to perform all over the world, will return to campus to present a recital at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, in Eppley Auditorium, 3625 Garretson Ave.

Her program will feature works by Haydn, Schumann, Medtner and Rachmaninoff. The concert is free and open to the public.

Upon moving to the United States at age 9, Kim continued her piano studies with March. Soon after, she was accepted into the preparatory division of The Juilliard School, winning first prize in its Gina Bachauer Competition the subsequent year. She went on to receive honors at numerous other piano competitions.

The Washington Post has praised Kim’s playing as “rich with emotional contrasts.” She has performed throughout the United States, Canada, South Korea, Germany, South Africa and Spain. She has performed in notable venues such as Alice Tully Hall and Juilliard Theater at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Kennedy Center and Steinway Hall. Kim serves on the faculties of Loyola University Maryland and Washington College.
