Ryan Kasdorf has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America College Division Football Team.

Ryan Kasdorf, a senior quarterback from Newhall, Calif., has been named to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-America College Division Football Team as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Kasdorf has a 3.49 cumulative grade point average (GPA) with a major in general psychology.

Kasdorf is one of the leading passers in the nation for a Morningside football team that is ranked fourth in the nation and will take an 11-1 record into a home game against No. 7 Marian University in this Saturday’s semifinals of the NAIA Championship Series. He has completed 206 of 293 pass attempts for 3365 yards and 33 touchdowns and has rushed for 333 yards and seven touchdowns in 73 attempts for an average of 4.6 yards per carry.

Kasdorf has passed for 6700 yards and 75 touchdowns during his two-year career with the Mustangs for the third highest passing yardage total in Morningside history.

Athletes must be of at least sophomore academic status, be a starter or significant reserve, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher to be eligible for Capital One All-Academic honors.
