Morningside was the College NAIA Jazz Division champion at the ISDTA State Championships.
Morningside College’s dance team won the championship in the College NAIA Jazz Division at the Iowa State Drill Team Association (ISDTA) State Championships held Dec. 3 and 4 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa.
Aside from their championship in the jazz competition, the Mustangs also finished second in the College NAIA Pom Division.
The top four teams in the College NAIA Jazz Division were Morningside with 264 points, St. Ambrose University with 261.5, Briar Cliff University with 257.5, and Grand View University with 250.
The top four teams in the College NAIA Pom Division were St. Ambrose with 267 points, Morningside with 263, Grand View with 262.5, and Briar Cliff with 249.
Over 5000 participants representing 25 Iowa college and university dance teams and 270 Iowa high school teams competed at the event.
