The Morningside College Jazz Ensemble will present its spring concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 19, in Eppley Auditorium.
The Morningside College Jazz Ensemble will present its spring concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 19, in Eppley Auditorium, 3625 Garretson Ave.
The concert is free and open to the public. The ensemble will perform “Critical Mass” by Jeff Jarvis and “Alianza” by Erik Morales as well as works by Thad Jones, Count Basie and Charles Mingus. Featured vocalists are Shaley McDermott of Anthon, Iowa, and Nick Baack of Lakeside, Iowa.
The Morningside College Jazz Ensemble is under the direction of Russ Nagel. The ensemble recently performed in the Elmhurst College Jazz Festival in Chicago. This is the ensemble’s last home concert of the year.
