Suzanna Gonzalez used a pair of school-record breaking performances to earn the Liberal Arts Championships Women’s Swimmer of the Week award.

Suzanna Gonzalez, a junior from Trabuco Canyon, Calif., was named the Liberal Arts Championships Women’s Swimmer of the Week for her performances in the Mustangs’ home meets this past weekend.

Gonzalez won two events at last Friday’s triangular with the University of Nebraska-Kearney and Iowa Central Community College and won two more events at Saturday’s Morningside Invitational.

She broke a school record with a time of 10:49.45 to win the 1000-yard freestyle at the triangular meet and added a victory in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:02.81.

Gonzalez had another school-record breaking performance at the Morningside Invitational when she won the 500-yard freestyle in a record time of 5:12.87. She also won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:59.96.

Morningside will compete in the Gustavus Adolphus Invitational on Saturday in Saint Peter, Minn.
