Suzanna Gonzalez is the Liberal Arts Championships Female Swimmer of the Week.
Suzanna Gonzalez, a senior from Trabuco Canyon, Calif., was named the Liberal Arts Championships Female Swimmer of the Week based on her performances in the Mustangs’ two competitions last weekend.
Gonzalez had a freestyle distance double in last Friday’s triangular meet against the University of Nebraska-Kearney and Iowa Central Community College with first place times of 5:16.31 in the 500-yard freestyle and 10:47.93 in the 1000-yard freestyle.
She came back the next day to win two more events in the seven-team Morningside Invitational. Gonzalez won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:58.59 and the 500-yard freestyle in 5:13.73. She was the runner-up in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 55.64 seconds.
Morningside will compete in the Gustavus Adolphus College Invitational on Saturday in Saint Peter, Minn.
