Morningside finished 25th at the 2016 NAIA Women’s Golf National Championships at Savannah Quarters Country Club in Pooler, Ga.

The scheduled 72-hole event was reduced to 36 holes for the first time in the history of the event after rain washed out Tuesday and Thursday’s scheduled rounds.

Morningside was in 25th place after it carded a 355 in Wednesday’s opening round and remained in 25th place after a 382 on Friday for a two-round total of 737.

The Mustangs, this year’s GPAC runner-up, finished with a 13-stroke cushion over eight-time reigning GPAC champion Dakota Wesleyan, which finished 26th with a 750.

Alexandra Mankle paced the Mustangs each day with a first round 82 and a second round 87 to finish 103rd in the individual standings with a 169.

Myla Brown had the Mustangs’ second lowest score each day with an 87 in the first round and a closing 98 to finish with a 185.

Cheyanne Becker had rounds of 92 and 99 for a 191, Mikaela Livengood had rounds of 94 and 99 for a 193, and Elizabeth Thies with rounds of 98 and 98 for a 196.
