New York City-based fashion designer and technologist Natalia Allen will present a lecture titled “Are Clothes Modern?” at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 30, in UPS Auditorium in Morningside College’s Lincoln Center, 3627 Peters Ave.

Allen will discuss young entrepreneurship, design, wearable technology and robotic design processes for moving toward zero-waste manufacturing. The lecture is sponsored by Morningside College’s Committee on Environmental Sustainability and is free and open to the public.

Allen has been recognized by Fast Company as one of the “100 Most Creative Professionals” and by Accenture as one of the “Top 25 Women in Tech to Watch.” She is a graduate of Parsons School of Design and has worked with brands such as Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, DuPont and Proctor & Gamble. She also has her own line of clothing and a design consultancy firm, Design Futurist.

Morningside’s Committee on Environmental Sustainability has a membership of students, staff and faculty that seeks to transform the college into an environmentally friendly campus.
