Heather Wilburn, visiting assistant professor of philosophy at Morningside College, recently presented a paper at the Southwestern Philosophical Society’s annual meeting at The University of Kansas in Lawrence.

The paper, titled “Elements of an Adornoesque Ethics: Speculative Thinking and Materiality,” discusses beliefs of philosopher and social critic Theodor W. Adorno, a German philosopher who was prominent in the 1960s and 1970s.

Wilburn came to Morningside this fall after serving as a lecturer at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. Her area of specialty is 19th- and 20th-century continental philosophy, Adorno, and post-Kantian ethics. She received her doctorate in philosophy from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.
