MITCHELL, S.D. – A rainy afternoon in central South Dakota couldn’t put a damper on Morningside College winding up an impressive 2018 regular season Saturday, Oct. 27.

Senior goalkeeper Tim Erdmann (Hamburg, Germany), putting the finishing touches on an impressive run of eight wins in the last 10 matches for head coach Tom Maxon’s squad, blanked the host Dakota Wesleyan University Tigers due to four saves and a solid back row defensive effort over 90 minutes for the Mustangs’ fifth clean sheet.  Meanwhile, the offense was more than happy to acquiesce, as senior forward Murat Turan (Bergisch Gladbach, Germany) tallied a goal for the third time in his last four matches played and junior defender Pedro Tostes (Brasilia, Brazil) added a score to lead the Maroon and White to a 2-0 Great Plains Athletic Conference victory.

Morningside College (11-5-1, 9-2 GPAC) takes the second seed into the GPAC postseason tournament next week.
