Morningside’s dance team reigned in the College NAIA Jazz and Hip Hop Divisions at the Iowa State Dance Championships.
Morningside’s dance team had two first place finishes at the 2017 Iowa State Dance Championships held Friday at Wells Fargo Arena/Hy-Vee Hall in Des Moines, Iowa.
The competition was sponsored by the Iowa State Dance/Drill Team Association.
Morningside won the College NAIA Jazz Division, followed by St. Ambrose University, Grand View University, and Graceland University. The Mustangs won their third consecutive ISDTA College NAIA Jazz championship.
Morningside and Grand View tied for top honors in the College NAIA Hip Hop Division, followed by St. Ambrose, Graceland and Dordt College.
The Mustangs were also one of the four place winners with a third place finish in the College NAIA Pom Division, which was won by St. Ambrose, followed by Grand View, Morningside, and William Penn University.
