Morningside’s dance team was the NAIA Jazz Division champion at the ISDTA Invitational.
Morningside finished first in the College NAIA Jazz Division at the Iowa State Dance & Drill Team (ISDTA) Invitational held on Dec. 5 in Des Moines, Iowa.
The Mustangs scored 204.5 points for a 3.5-point victory margin over St. Ambrose University, the runner-up with 201 points. Grand View University was third with 198 points, followed by Clarke University, 192; Graceland University, 191.5; and Briar Cliff University, 188.5
Morningside finished third in the College NAIA Hip Hop Division. St. Ambrose won the hip hop crown with 274 points, followed by Grand View, 263.5; Morningside, 262.5; Graceland, 258; William Penn University, 254.5; Briar Cliff, 253; and AIB College of Business, 250.5.
The Mustangs’ dance team will compete in the Midland University Invitational on Jan. 26 in Fremont, Neb.
