Morningside’s dance team received an at-large berth to compete in the 2016 NAIA Competitive Cheer & Dance National Invitational.

Morningside College’s Dance team received an at-large berth to compete in the 2016 NAIA Competitive Cheer & Dance National Invitational to be held March 11-12 at Quad City River Center in Davenport, Iowa.

The Mustangs, who finished second at last Friday’s NAIA Competitive Cheer & Dance North Qualifying Competition in Fremont, Neb., received one of eight at-large berths to complete a 12-team NAIA National Invitational field that also includes the champions from the four regional NAIA Qualifying Competitions.

Morningside’s dance team, coached by Lindsey Huber, finished fourth at last year’s NAIA National Invitational.

The members of the Mustangs’ dance team are Holly Bathurst, a sophomore from Sioux City; Jessica Bennett, a sophomore from Sioux City; Kara Bentz, a senior from Humboldt, Iowa; Elizabeth Bohlmann, a sophomore from Sioux City; Allysen Fuller, a freshman from Sioux City; Brianna Harding, a junior from Council Bluffs, Iowa; Kayla Inlay, a freshman from Sioux City; Angel Lamoreux, a freshman from Le Mars, Iowa; Hayley Lange, a freshman from Sioux City; Erin Oliver, a junior from Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; and Miranda Shipley, a freshman from Des Moines, Iowa.
