Neeia Cooperwood repeated as the GPAC Indoor Women’s Track & Field Athlete of the Year
Neeia Cooperwood, a senior from Omaha, Neb., was named the 2015 Hauff Mid-America Sports/Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year.
Cooperwood won four events at last Saturday’s GPAC Indoor Track & Field Championships with winning times of 7.75 seconds in the 60-meters, 24.75 in the 200-meters, and 56.32 in the 400-meters to go along with a winning distance of 18-6 in the long jump. She also anchored the Mustangs to a fifth place finish in the 1600-meter relay.
Her time of 24.75 seconds in the 200-meters set a new meet record.
Cooperwood was also named the GPAC Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year in 2014 and was the GPAC Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year in 2013.
