Moriah Bohlmann was named to the College Division Academic All-District 3 Softball Team.

Moriah Bohlmann, a senior first baseman from Denison, Iowa, was named to the 2017 College Division Academic All-District 3 Softball Team as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

As an all-district selection, Bohlmann’s name will go on the national ballot for selection of the 2017 College Division Academic All-America Softball Team.

Bohlmann has a 3.95 cumulative grade point average (GPA) with a major in elementary education.

Bohlmann is one of the top offensive performers for a Morningside team that has a 35-8 record, won a second consecutive Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) championship and is ranked ninth nationally in the NAIA. Bohlmann has a .370 batting average and leads the Mustangs with 12 doubles, four triples and 45 RBIs and is second on the team with six home runs. Bohlmann has been one of the most improved players in the NAIA following a 2016 season where she hit .236 with nine RBIs.

Athletes must be of at least sophomore academic status, be a starter or significant reserve, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher to be eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors.
