Boer receives NAIA national qualifier berth
Payton Boer, a junior from Sioux Center, Iowa, received an at-large qualifying berth for the 2017 NAIA Women’s Cross Country National Championship to be held Saturday, Nov. 18, at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver, Wash.
Boer earned one of the GPAC’s at-large qualifying berths after she ran a 5k time of 18:36.19 for a seventh place finish in the individual standings at last Saturday’s GPAC Cross Country Championships in Sioux Center.
Boer joins Mustang teammate Michelle Mumm, a senior from Neola, Iowa, who had secured an automatic qualifying entry as the GPAC women’s individual champion at the GPAC Cross Country Championships.
Mumm became Morningside’s first-ever women’s GPAC cross country individual champion when she ran a time of 17:47.34 to reign over a field of 100 runners.
