Keegan Bak was the individual medalist with a three-over par 74 at the Northwestern Invitational.

Keegan Bak fired a three-over par 74 to ein individual medalist honors at Tuesday’s Northwestern College Invitational men’s golf tournament at Landsmeer Golf Course in Orange City, Iowa.

Bak’s scorecard included four birdies and nine pars to top a field of 56 golfers. He finished one stroke in front of Midland’s Garrett Giesselmann, who was the runner-up medalist with a 75.

Morningside carded a team score of 323 to finish fifth in a nine-team field. The Mustangs finished only two strokes out of fourth place behind Doane and only five strokes out of second place. Midland won the team title with a 306 for a 12-stroke cushion over runner-up Dordt.

Aside from Bak’s 74, the Mustangs counted an 80 by Alex O’Neill, an 84 by Jason Vander Kooi, and an 85 by Cam Kuchel.

The Mustangs will return to Landsmeer on Monday, April 27, for GPAC Qualifier #4.
