Saxx Adams, a senior forward from Plano, Texas, was the leading scorer for the Morningside College men’s soccer team during the 2013 season.

Adams tallied a team-high seven goals to go along with one assist for 15 points. He scored the game winning goal in four of the Mustangs’ seven victories. His four game winning goals was the third highest single-season total in Morningside history.

Adams, who joined the Mustangs’ last year as a transfer from Cowley County Community College, had 16 goals and five assists in his two seasons with the Mustangs to finish his career as the 10th leading scorer in Morningside history with 37 career points. Adams is third in the Morningside record book with seven career game winning goals and eighth with 16 career goals.

Taylor Martin, a senior forward from Omaha, Neb., dealt a team-high five assists to go along with one goal for seven points. Three of Martin’s assists came in the Mustangs’ 4-1 victory against Mount Marty College on Sept. 25 to tie Morningside’s single-game record.

Chico Hernandez, a senior forward from South Sioux City, Neb., was the Mustangs’ third leading scorer with three goals and three assists for nine points and finished his career in 17th place on Morningside’s all-time scoring list with 27 points.

Logan Schaefers, a junior midfielder from Rapid City, S.D., was the Mustangs’ second leading scorer with six goals and two assists for 14 points to climb into 19th place on Morningside’s all-time scoring list with 22 career points.

Eduardo Pinheiro, a freshman goal keeper from Goiania, Brazil, had a 4-3 record with one shutout, 51 saves, and a goals against average of 1.05 goals per game to lead the Mustangs in all categories.

Morningside posted a 7-11 record and finished seventh in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) standings with a 4-6 league record during the 2013 season.
