Morningside’s placed fifth in both the men’s and women’s 800-yard freestyle relays on the first day of the Liberal Arts Championships swimming & diving meet.

Morningside placed fifth in both the men’s and women’s 800-yard freestyle relays in Wednesday’s action in the 2018 Liberal Arts Championships swimming & diving meet in Decorah, Iowa.

The Mustangs’ men’s 800-yard freestyle relay team of Tim Cohoon, a junior from Buffalo, Wyo.; Lucas Farrington, a junior from Rockwell City, Iowa; Brenndan Gorski, a freshman from Sioux City; and John Dieter, a senior from Carroll, Iowa, combined for a time of 7:34.77.

Morningside’s women’s 800-yard freestyle relay team of Suzanna Gonzalez, a senior from Trabuco Canyon, Calif.; Tessa Renze, a freshman from Omaha, Neb.; Alisia Woodward, a junior from Waterloo, Iowa; and Veronica Mullen, a junior from Omaha, combined for a time of 8:18.56.

The Liberal Arts Championships will continue through Saturday.
