Morningside College students and faculty presented local law enforcement with a proclamation Friday (Nov. 4) with 671 signatures to show their support after the ambush killings of police officers in the Des Moines area this week.
Woodbury County Sheriff Dave Drew and Sioux City Police Chief Doug Young received the signatures, which were obtained in just 24 hours.
“This was absolutely amazing,” Drew said in a statement Friday. “In times like this, though they may be difficult, we find great strength and encouragement, from within the blue line, but also a supporting community.”
