We believe some of the students who make the greatest difference aren’t always recognized through traditional scholarship models. The Mside Impact Grant was created to recognize students whose service, work, leadership, commitment and care for others have already made a positive impact—and to help them continue that journey at Morningside.
It’s designed for students who consistently contribute to their schools, workplaces, families, and communities. There isn’t one definition of impact, and there isn’t one type of student we’re looking for.
The grant is available to new incoming first-year students beginning Fall 2027. Current Morningside students, online students and St. Luke’s College students are not eligible.
Leadership, community service, academic and career organizations, faith-based involvement, school organizations, employment, family responsibilities, youth organizations and other meaningful experiences all help tell your story.
No. Impact isn’t measured by titles. Some of the most influential students never hold a formal office—they simply show up, contribute and make the people around them better.
Eligible students receive an invitation to apply after they’re admitted to Morningside. The application is not available publicly.
Applications are reviewed holistically by a committee of Morningside faculty and staff. We consider commitment, consistency, reflection and your potential to become an engaged member of the Mside community.
Yes. The Mside Impact Grant may be combined with other institutional aid according to university financial aid policies.
You’ll become part of the Mside Impact Program—a community designed to encourage involvement, leadership, personal growth and meaningful connections throughout your Morningside experience.
Every recipient will be connected with an Impact Mentor who will help them explore opportunities, build relationships and make the most of their Morningside experience. Additional details will be shared as the program launches.
Throughout the year, recipients will participate in exclusive experiences that bring the Impact community together for leadership development, connection and engagement.
Yes. Continued engagement is an important part of the Mside Impact Program. Specific renewal expectations will be shared with recipients before they begin classes.
That’s expected. Your mentor will help you discover new opportunities that align with your interests and goals.
