BUSN 611: Storytelling with Data (3 credits)

Storytelling is one of the oldest and most powerful tools for action, and this course empowers MBA students to transform raw data into compelling narratives that drive business decisions. By the end of this course, you’ll be able to create data queries and visualizations, integrate data into business planning, and effectively communicate your findings, helping organizations turn data into a strategic tool for competition and innovation.

BUSN 612: Spreadsheet Modeling for Decision-Making (3 credits)

Spreadsheet tools are the most universal and easily accessible program for most people to use and interpret data—and a vital skill for any analyst to know. In this course, students will learn data cleaning, financial modeling, optimization, and data visualization using PivotTables and PivotCharts, enabling students to analyze complex datasets, create forecasts, and effectively communicate insights to support data-driven decision-making in business contexts.

BUSN 613: Python for Business Analytics (3 credits)

This course is designed to introduce MBA students to the fundamentals of Python programming with a special focus on its application in business analytics. By the end of this course, students will learn how to set up a Python environment, manipulate and analyze data using NumPy and Pandas, and create visualizations with Matplotlib to drive business decisions.

BUSN 604: Managing AI Projects (3 credits)

AI project can help predict trends and optimizes operations, allowing businesses to understand not just what has happened but what will happen—and what should be done about it. By the end of this course, students will be prepared to drive financial and operational impact by managing AI project lifecycles: developing comprehensive project plans, managing data and models, ensuring effective deployment, and communicating progress and outcomes to stakeholders.

We find that the hardest MBA courses for many students are Applied Corporate Financial Accounting, Managerial Finance, and Managerial Economics, especially if you do not have an undergraduate degree in business, or if you have significant gaps in your background and preparation for the MBA program.

In these situations, we require students to complete between one and three self-paced online preparation course(s) through MBA PrepWorks, a nationally renowned MBA preparation learning company. More details about this process are available by inquiring.

One or more of the bridge courses are not required if you have an undergraduate business degree that includes financial accounting, finance, and economics, or if you have demonstrated professional work experience providing a strong foundation in these areas, or if you have recorded a GMAT score of 600 or higher.

MBA MyWay students are always welcome to take one or more of the low-cost preparation courses if they just want to refresh their knowledge and set themselves up for success.
