Credit Requirements

Work is completed in two parts. Candidates must complete the 17 credits of professional foundations core and at least 15 credits in the field of special education to include Morningside’s 12 credits in the field of autism.

Dr. Brenda Swaggart, Autism Education Adjunct Instructor

Brenda has instructed at Morningside since 2012 and brings an expert background with her. She taught at many levels of K–12 education, focusing on teaching areas related to behavior disorders and Autism Spectrum Disorder. She also served as a special education process coordinator.
Brenda has a Ph.D. in special education with an emphasis in Autism and behavior disorders.
