General Maintenance Technician
Morningside University is looking for a skilled and service-oriented General Maintenance Technician. This is a full-time position. In this role the individual is responsible for general maintenance and repairs of the buildings and grounds.
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and repairs of buildings
- Maintenance of buildings including minor electrical and plumbing repairs
- Availability to follow the on-call schedule as needed.
- Perform basic carpentry work including repairs to locks, closets, furniture, doors, fixtures, etc.
- Perform patching, repairing walls, painting rooms of various sizes, maintain painting equipment and inventories of paint and supplies.
- General Grounds maintenance – litter control, salting when necessary.
- General HVAC maintenance- coil washing, filter changing, belt maintenance.
- Assist with snow removal of sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots.
- Completion of various maintenance duties and tasks as needed by the work order system
Qualifications:
- Maintains a positive working relationship with students, parents, faculty, and staff.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and works well with others.
- Ability to use general tools and equipment.
- Ability to lift/carry heavy items around 50 pounds.
