Digital Marketing Coordinator

Morningside University is looking to fill the position of Digital Marketing Coordinator. This position
provides support to University Engagement as well as other University departments. This individual will
plan, schedule, and manage social media content; assist with marketing, alumni and campus events;
occasionally assist with generating content for the University’s alumni magazine and news site; develop
website content as needed; and assist with generating photo and video content.

Responsibilities

Social Media, Marketing Support & Content Creation

  • Work with the AVP for Marketing & Communication to plan, schedule, and manage social media
    on the University’s primary platforms, as well as Career Services & Alumni Relations.
  • Curate photo, video, and other content to populate social media platforms
  • Create and edit marketing materials such as brochures, digital ads and social media content and
    design graphics that align with the college’s branding and communication strategies.
  • Utilize Hootsuite to curate social media content, create reports and make recommendations on
    future strategy based on data.
  • Work with intern pool to develop intern-generated social media content
  • Provide support to departments and programs who request assistance with social media
    requests as needed
  • Utilize information and data from departments to develop plans, content, and other resources.
  • Build strong relationships with each department to provide effective and efficient marketing
    support.
  • Assist with developing content for Morningside websites and updating content

Photo and Video Content

  • Take photos, film and edit videos to be used within University Engagement
  • Provide management for photo and video shoots as needed
  • Ensure photos and videos are stored, organized, and available for use
  • Assist departments with social media, videography, and photography as needed

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to the AVP of Marketing & Communications in creating marketing materials,
    including flyers, templates, etc.
  • Provide outstanding service and maintain strong working relationships
  • Participate as an active member of the University Engagement team
  • Ensure excellence in all things marketing and communication at Morningside University

Qualifications

  • Experience managing social platforms for a business, nonprofit, or other brand; Hootsuite
    experience is preferred
  • Technologically savvy, experience with content management systems, photo management,
    photography, video capture, video editing, and other common technology
  • Ability to work at a quick pace under pressure in order to meet deadlines
  • Excellent oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills; strong organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, English, journalism, marketing, or related field
  • Work experience or related work experience with social media, marketing, and/or websites
  • Experience with video production and editing software
  • Working knowledge of graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva is
    strongly preferred, as well as a strong sense of creativity and attention to detail
