The Department of Social Sciences at Morningside University seeks a faculty member for the Psychological Sciences program as a tenure-track Assistant Professor. The position emphasizes developing student knowledge, understanding, and skills related to counseling psychology and other social service professions, at the undergraduate level. This position is a nine-month appointment beginning August 10, 2026.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in counseling psychology or a closely related discipline; ABD will be considered. The teaching load is 24 credits per year, including a May Term every three years. Candidates must be able to teach courses in the Counseling Psychology major such as Psychopathology, Group Counseling, Individual Counseling, and Psychological Testing, as well as core courses for all psychology majors such as General Psychology and Careers in Psychology. Faculty may have the opportunity to develop new courses in their specialty area and/or to shape the requirements for the Counseling Psychology major. Candidates must also be willing to contribute to the general education curriculum by teaching first-year writing or statistics. Ideal candidates will have an active scholarly agenda that may include collaborating with students.
