Advising and Disability Services Coordinator
Morningside University is now accepting applications for the position of Advising and Disability Services Coordinator. This is a full-time position that develops programs and materials to assist with the enhancement of advising at Morningside University, oversees disability services, and is responsible for assisting international students.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as an advocate for students with scheduling problems by meeting with these students and working to resolve their scheduling problems by means of a coordinated effort involving the student, faculty, and registrar’s office.
- Develop and coordinate print and electronic resources related to advising.
- Pre-register and create class schedules for incoming first-year
- Assist in summer enrollment and registration
- Identify faculty to do advising for exploring
- Work with the Academic Affairs office to assist with course
- Oversee all disability services by evaluating documentation, determining reasonable accommodations, and coordinating those accommodations with the campus.
- Meet with prospective students as necessary about majors offered, disability services, and study abroad.
- Coordinate study abroad activities including overseeing applications, communication with students, and working with study abroad partners.
- Serve as the PDSO for international
- Supervise Jump Start, Early Start, PSEO students, and any other programs involving high school students.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- A high level of energy and innovation are desirable.
- Must have excellent written and oral skills.
- Ability to work both as a team member and independently.
