Morningside College recently announced seven new full-time employees in student services.

Morningside College recently announced seven new full-time employees in student services.

The new employees are Joanie Beaver, campus visit coordinator; Samuel Clary, area coordinator and student development coordinator; Scott Kruger, equipment manager; Ryan Russell, chaplain and director of church relations; and Joey Awtry, Cassie Burnside and Betsy Chilton, admissions counselors.

Beaver coordinates individual campus visits through relationships with current students, faculty, financial aid staff, admissions counselors, fine arts faculty and coaches. She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of West Florida in Pensacola.

Clary coordinates the day-to-day functions of residence halls in his assigned area, and he coordinates the campus Leadership Academy and wellness program. He also provides coordination for residence life staff selection and training. Clary has a bachelor’s degree from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wis.

Kruger is responsible for maintenance and distribution of athletic equipment for all intercollegiate sports teams, as well as custodial duties in the Rosen Verdoorn Sports Center. Kruger has a bachelor’s degree from Morningside College.

Russell provides pastoral care, programmatic leadership, spiritual direction and moral guidance to the Morningside College community. He also works closely with the United Methodist church and assists in the recruiting of United Methodist students. Russell has a Master of Divinity from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Ill.

Awtry, Burnside and Chilton provide information and guidance to prospective students and their families about Morningside College policies, procedures, programs and student life. Awtry and Burnside both have a bachelor’s degree from Morningside College, and Chilton has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln,
