Tyson Foods Intern: Olivia Christensen

Aug 19, 2020 • Student News

Meet Olivia Christensen! Christensen is a junior with a self-designed major in Nonprofit Management, advocacy and public policy. On campus, Christensen is a member of the President’s book club, a Morningside Ambassador, and a member of the Student Government’s Diversity Committee. This summer, Christensen was a Tyson Foods Summer Community Intern at United Way of Siouxland.

Christensen’s main responsibility while working with United Way of Siouxland was finalizing details for the company’s 100 year anniversary celebration. Unfortunately, this celebration has been postponed until next year.

“I plan to work for a nonprofit,” Christensen wrote, “so this internship perfectly aligns with my selected career path.” She also noted that learning the internal processes of a nonprofit has been her favorite aspect.

Thank you to Tyson Foods, Iowa Campus Compact, and United Way of Siouxland for making this experience possible for Christensen and all the Tyson Foods Summer Community interns.
