Tyson Foods Intern: Kaitlyn Hoelscher

Jul 16, 2020 • Student News

Meet Kaitlyn Hoelscher! Hoelscher is a senior majoring in Counseling Psychology with a studio art minor. She lives off-campus and holds a job while going to school. This summer, Hoelscher is a Tyson Foods Summer Community Intern at Catholic Charities.

“I love the environment here,” Hoelscher wrote. “I already feel like I’m a part of their family. Everyone is incredibly welcoming, nice, and extremely helpful.”

Hoelscher is responsible for taking in requests for family assistance, recording new client referral information, and organizing a fundraiser to be held when possible. She noted how she is learning to interact with people, provide help, and how she can still make a difference even without a therapist license.

Thank you to Tyson Foods, Iowa Campus Compact, and Catholic Charities for making this experience possible for Hoelscher and all the Tyson Foods Summer Community interns.
