Tyson Foods Intern: Caitlin Makovicka
Meet Caitlin Makovicka! Caitlin is a junior social & behavioral sciences and business double major from Ceresco, Nebraska. Caitlin is involved in Accounting Club, ALD, ODK, Morningside Women’s Volleyball, Psi Chi, and she is also a Tyson Foods Summer Community Intern at Boys Town.
Caitlin is a Boys Town Consultant and she visits families to ensure that parents are using common parenting techniques in order to form good bonds with their children. She also makes sure that parents and kids are not in dire need of assistance or supplies. Caitlin says that this internship allows her to learn and perfect skills, so that she will be able to help more people in my future. Specifically, after graduating, Caitlin plans to get her Masters in social work and interning at Boys Town is a step closer to accomplishing that goal.
Caitlin decided to attend Morningside because the moment she stepped on campus it felt like home. She also noted that the people at Morningside are pretty incredible; this includes Professor Sarah Stevens. Professor Stevens helped Caitlin learn to view the world from the sociological perspective while also providing important life lessons that Caitlin will cherish forever.
Thank you to Tyson Foods, Iowa Campus Compact, and Boys Town for making this experience possible for Caitlin and all the Tyson Food Summer Community interns.
