Morningside College recently received approval from the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners to offer a degree in agricultural education, preparing students to teach agriculture at the middle and high school levels. The major will be offered beginning in the fall.
Dr. Thomas H. Paulsen, associate professor and chair of the applied agricultural and food studies program at Morningside College, is serving a two-year term on the board of directors for the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture organization.
The Regina Roth Applied Agricultural and Food Studies Program at Morningside College recently gave two presentations on best practices in agricultural education at the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture annual conference in West Lafayette, Ind.
The Morningside College Ag Club partnered with seven local high school FFA chapters for the second annual Siouxland Feed the Farmer event. They were able to serve 1,855 free meals to Siouxland farmers during the recent harvest season.
