The Voci Angelica Trio will present a lecture recital at Morningside College at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, in Eppley Auditorium, 3625 Garretson Ave. The event is free and open to the public.
Voci Angelica performs evocative and emotionally resonant folk music from Asian, Latin American, African and European traditions. The group strives to use folk music to broaden the audience's perception of the world.
The trio has global DNA: cellist Aristides Rivas is from Venezuela, soprano Meena Milik is half Indian and half Japanese, and soprano Jodi Hitzhusen is from Sioux City. Members of the young ensemble will perform and then talk about their experiences as successful, young musical entrepreneurs.
The Lewis & Clark Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing is presenting the concert, with generous support from the Discretionary Fund of the National Association for Teachers of Singing.
