Nicole Cleveland, a senior at Morningside College, has been awarded the Dorothy Andrews Kabis Internship with the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW).
This internship program offers undergraduate students the opportunity to work at NFRW headquarters in Alexandria, Va. The internship runs from June 25 to Aug. 3. Cleveland’s duties will include helping with preparations for the NFRW’s fall convention and developing the student membership outreach program.
“We are confident Nicole will bring a fresh perspective to our organization,” NFRW President Beverly Davis said. “We are working on many programs and projects that will give Nicole the opportunity to gain invaluable insight and experience regarding the election process and grassroots political activism.”
Cleveland is the daughter of Carl and Marla Cleveland of Sergeant Bluff. She will graduate from Morningside in 2008 with majors in political science and mass communications.
Founded in 1938, the NFRW is one of the largest women’s political organizations in the country with 100,000 members and 1,800 local clubs nationwide. The grassroots organization recruits and elects Republican candidates, advocates the Party’s philosophy and initiatives, and empowers women in the political process.
