Private Voice Studio (Register Now!)

Private Voice Studio

Age: Junior high, high school, college, post graduate

Description: Students will receive individual lessons and have the opportunity to perform and receive coaching from Master Teachers on the MIPA faculty. Students will be assigned a teacher based upon an initial interview to determine the best fit for the student.

Private Piano Studio (Register Now!)

Private Piano Studio

Age: grade school-high school, college, adult learners

Description: Students will receive individual lessons have opportunities to perform in IMTA auditions, Federation of Music Club auditions, Sonatina Festival, performance classes and select master classes with artist teachers when available. Lessons are available for students ages 6 - high school. Adult lessons are also available.

Description: Students will receive individual lessons, have opportunities to perform in Performance Classes. Private lessons also benefit students who are interested in the Youth Symphony programs, auditioning for All-State, and are enrolled in their school orchestra programs.

Group Violin Pre Twinkle Class for Children (Register now!)

Age: 4-6 years old

Description: Group violin lessons will be available for pre-school aged children. This class will be a combination of Suzuki and traditional methods. After completing a year of group instructions, parents have the option to enroll their children in private lessons.

MIPA Lyric Theatre Workshop

Age: High school, college, or post-college graduates currently taking voice lessons or have studied privately.  Admission to the Lyric Theatre Workshop Program is by audition.

Description: Lyric Theatre Workshop is a hands-on course exploring movement, imagination, the relationship between words and music, and the methods of expressing these things visually.  The goal is for the performer to feel comfortable on stage coordinating movement, acting, and singing.  We will use a wide variety of acting and vocal exercises, improvisations, writing, reading, listening, and the course will culminate in performances of the scenes or show.

Siouxland Youth Orchestras

Age: Three orchestras accommodate student instrumentalists of all levels through 25 years of age

Description: The Siouxland Youth Symphony is the top orchestra of the Siouxland Youth Orchestras’ three-tiered professional orchestral training program through the auspices of the Leo Kucinski Academy of Music at Morningside College.  Comprised of advanced middle school, high school, and collegiate students, placement in Youth Symphony is by competitive audition and based entirely upon skill, not age. Dr. Sean Burton serves as Music Director and Conductor of the Siouxland Youth Symphony and Coordinator of the Siouxland Youth Orchestras program. The two training orchestras, Symphonette and Philharmonia, are also auditioned and led by Professor Michele Grossman and Professor Eleanor May-Patterson (orchestra director at Sioux City East High School and string specialist in the Sioux City Community Schools).  

Fee: ** $10 registration fee for all ensembles**

Symphonette $100
Philharmonia $150
Youth Symphony $200

Registration: Admission to the Youth Orchestras Program is by audition. The conducting staff assigns each student to the orchestra that provides each student the best opportunity for successful performance and the appropriate level of challenge. Members must also participate in their school band or orchestra programs, if available. Private study is strongly encouraged.

Group Voice Lessons (Coming soon!)

Description: These lessons offers young singers the opportunity to receive vocal instruction in a supportive group setting while also receiving tailored, individualized attention with an Emerging Artist Teacher. They will also receive coachings from Master Teachers on the MIPA faculty.
