Certificate Offerings

Advance your career in nursing

The Nylen School of Nursing at Morningside College wants to help you grow in your profession. We offer certificate programs for nurses to build on their Bachelor's and Master's Degrees.

Clinical Outcome Post-Bachelor's Certificates

Morningside offers a Clinical Outcome Post-Bachelor's Certificate. This certificate is ideal for nurses with a Bachelor's Degree in nursing who wish to expand their scope of practice.

In this program, you'll earn 10 credits through online coursework. It will also help you determine whether the full Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program is right for you.

Post-Master's Certificates

If you already have an MSN degree, further your education with a Post-Master's Certificate. The Nylen School of Nursing offers three Post-Master's Certificates:

  • Clinical Nurse Leader Post-Master's Certificate
  • Family Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Post-Master's Certificate
  • Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Post-Master's Certificate

Each certificate will allow you to expand your scope of practice. You'll also gain a better understanding of specific roles.

Coursework is online with the exception of one- to three-day on-campus residencies, depending on your certificate selection. Each program also requires practicum hours. You may complete these in your own community and work environment.

Student practicums are directly supervised by an approved local preceptor as well as a member of Morningside's nursing faculty.
