Morningside College will host two girl’s basketball individual skills camps from Monday to Thursday, June 4 to 7.
The camps are open to girls entering grades 2 through 10 during the 2018-19 school year. Campers will be placed into groups according to their age and ability levels. A camp for girls in grades 2-5 will be held each day from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and a camp for girls in grades 6-10 will be held each day from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The camps will include instruction from coaches and players from the Morningside College women’s basketball team, contests, awards, and daily full-court games.
Registration fee is $100 per camper, which includes a camp T-shirt. A $50 non-refundable balance of the camp fee is due on or before the first camp date.
The camp director is Morningside women’s basketball head coach Jamie Sale, who has led the Mustangs to four NAIA Division II National Championships, seven NAIA II Final Four appearances, nine Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) championships, 16 consecutive NAIA II National Tournament appearances and 15 consecutive 20-win seasons. Sale is the second winningest active women’s basketball coach in the NAIA Division II with a career record of 545-148.
