Associate professor of business administration
Dr. Power has a Ph.D. in higher education administration and leadership from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln; her Master of Business Administration with a concentration in management information systems from the University of South Dakota; her undergraduate business degree (B.B.A.) was completed at the University of Iowa.
Dr. Power joined Morningside College in the Fall of 2014. She has over 12 years of higher education teaching and administrative experience, having served previously as a division chair and department chair of business administration. She has been actively engaged in higher education strategic planning with a particular emphasis on undergraduate and graduate business education. Her teaching expertise resides in management and leadership, as well as management information systems. Prior to her career experience in higher education, she was employed with U.S. Bank in Sioux City, Iowa, as a branch manager.
Dr. Power is a member of the Academy of Management. She was previously named a Sam Walton Fellow for Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE). She has also been actively involved in the Siouxland community. She is a current member of the board of Women Aware, and she has previously served as vice president of finance for Junior League of Sioux City, a member of the for the Sioux City Public Museum Association Board, and a volunteer for the United Way New Organizations Campaign. Dr. Power is also a graduate of Leadership Siouxland.
