Morningside University is accepting applications for a full-time administrative assistant, 40 hours per week for 10 months of the year (August through May), for the Department of Humanities.
Responsibilities: This individual will be responsible for office management and clerical support for faculty members, preparing departmental reports, assisting with budget preparation, answering phones, assisting with department publications and a creative writing magazine, correspondence and organizing meetings. This individual will also supervise work study students as well as coordinate publicity for campus speakers and events sponsored by the department.
Qualifications: A candidate should be reliable and have excellent administrative skills for general office duties: strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), excellent interpersonal skills, professional written and oral communication skills, strong organizational and scheduling skills, and the ability to make decisions requiring good judgment and initiative.
