Associate professor of nursing education

Shar has been contributing to nursing student success for more than 15 years. Her experience is in maternal-child health in multiple settings and she is passionate about the health of families. She teaches at the junior and senior level in these content areas. A second area of expertise is NCLEX success, and she is the faculty member who teaches the NCLEX review course for senior nursing students. Shar has a research interest in childhood obesity and is conducting research related to nursing students and childhood obesity.  When not teaching or researching, Shar enjoys cooking, spending time with family, reading and growing flowers. She lives on a farm with her two children and husband and family time includes school activities and church.
