Housing
Hi
Helpful Advice
- The college supplies a standard twin or extra-long twin bed frame, mattress, power strip, desk, and chair for each resident. (see lofting rules for more information on what is in each room)
- You really don't need to bring everything you own.
- Leave your phone number with your parents - you never know when they will need to talk to you while you are gone.
- Don't over-pack; Mom and Dad can always ship "care packages" to you!
- Consult with your roommate(s) ahead of time so you don't bring duplicate items (for example: TV, VCR, DVD, fridge, rugs)
- You can buy things in Sioux City - IF YOU NEED THEM. There is no need to panic if you forget something.

Bedding: What to Bring
These residence hall rooms have the new style lofted beds that are extra long (36”x80”): Dimmitt Hall rooms 138-152, 201-216, 235-259, 301-329 and 364-377, Roadman Hall rooms 30-41, 130-142, and 330-349, Poppen Hall, Waitt Hall, Lags Hall, or Garretson Houses. Although not all rooms have extra-long beds, most upper-class housing options do. If you only want to purchase sheets once in your college career it is recommended that you purchase extra-long sheets. They will fit on standard beds.
To make your life easier you can order your sheets, comforters, matching towels, and storage items directly through Morningside College’s Residence Hall Linens program. The Value Pak has everything you need for campus living! Don’t forget- ordering from Residence Hall Linens ensures you have sheets that will fit all of the beds on campus while supporting Morningside College’s Residence Hall Association.
