Department - Retail
Position - Universal Store Director
What is Universal Cheerleaders
Association? It is a 30 year old company based in Memphis, Tennessee
who holds over 1100 camps each summer and trains over 200,000 cheerleaders
annually. We also sponsor the National High School Cheerleading and
Dance Team Championships, as well as, the College National Championship
at Disney World in Orlando, FL. Known simply as UCA in the cheer world,
we have two sister companies, Universal Dance Association (UDA) and
Varsity Spirit Fashions, the leader in cheer and dance fashions. Together
we form Varsity Spirit Corporation. You may also visit www.varisty.com

What are the responsibilities of a Universal Store Director?
As a Universal Store Director, your responsibilities will include, but
not be limited to, store set up, store operation, store promotion, and
store closeout. Camps will consist of participants ranging in age from
elementary to high school, as well as coaches and advisors. As a Universal
Store Director, one of the most important duties will be to develop
and maintain a good rapport with the camp directors, head instructors,
university officials, campers, and advisors. You will be expected to
stay in the dorm with the participants unless you live within 30 minutes
of the campus.
How will I know what to do? We have a mandatory training session
that will take place in either late May or early June. We cover everything
you need to know involved with running a Universal Store. We pay all
of your expenses to this session. This training session is not a paid
week. We will help arrange transportation to and from the training session.
Sites for this training are tentatively set in Tennessee, Wisconsin,
Texas, California, and Pennsylvania. You will attend the training session
in your region.
What camps will I work and how will I get there? You will work
camps in an 8-hour radius from your home. The number of camps you work
will depend on how many weeks you are available and what are of the
country you are from. Staffing for each camp is done in the national
office. You will be responsible for your own transportation to and from
camps. Travel is required for this job.
How long is each camp? Most camps are 4 days and 3 nights (room
and board are provided at each camp). You will report by noon the day
before the camp starts. For example, most camps start Tuesday morning
and end Friday morning. For those camps, you will report on Monday at
noon. This will give you time to get ready for the participants arriving
the next day.
How much will I get paid? $200.00 base salary per camp
$40 expense money (non-taxed) per camp. If you happen to go over the
$40, we will reimburse you.
$30 average car allowance (non-taxed) per camp
Commission - a percentage of sales
We also pay your room and board, which has an approximate value of $300
per camp.
How can I do this? Fill out an application and send in ASAP.
We will begin hiring in February 2004. APPLICATION DEADLINE MARCH 5th,
